Amethyst
Amethyst is a purple-colored, semi-precious gem of the quartz mineral family. It is also known as katela and is used as a substitute for Neelam in astrology. People use it to protect themselves from the evil effects of Saturn. Amethyst is considered extremely important for reducing the effects of alcoholism.
People with Aries, Cancer, Leo, and Scorpio signs can wear it in certain situations. It is customary to give it as a gift on the fourth or sixth wedding anniversary.
